Coaching Credentials

My academic qualifications include an honours degree in Social Psychology; graduating from the Institute of Personnel and Development; qualifying to use personality profiling tools such as the MBTI (Myers Briggs personality Type Indicator), the Occupational Personality Questionnaire, Hogan, and FIRO-B (Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation – Behaviour); attending Transactional Analysis 101; and studying HR Strategy in Transforming Organisations with London Business School. I’m a member of the Institute of Directors, and the European Mentoring & Coaching Council.  I invest in regular Coaching Supervision, and I’m currently working towards accreditation as an Ashridge Executive Coach.

I bring 20 years experience helping individuals and organisations achieve their potential.  I have delivered measurable results in new business start-ups, and in large scale change programmes. Through senior HR roles I have developed individuals and teams in entrepreneurial businesses that have built strong brands through their people (Haagen-Dazs - UK & Scandinavia, and Pret A Manger).  In addition to working with companies transitioning from start-up phase; I worked with Superdrug (part of the Kingfisher Group) as we instigated a significant change programme impacting 12 500 people. 

In 2002 I set up my own company and worked as an interim HR professional, with a range of blue chip, global, retail, and media companies including Starbucks, TK Maxx, and FremantleMedia.  My last interim assignment was as Head of Learning and Development with the Financial Times

Since January 2006 I have specialised in the development of people and organisations through coaching individuals, facilitating the development of teams, and consulting on organisation change and learning.  Clients include the Financial Times, Coventry University, itsu, and Capita

In the role of ‘expert’ coach, I have successfully developed HR professionals into valued Business Partners.  I was instrumental in the development of Pret A Manager’s award-winning culture, and I draw on my experience in Organisational Development; Employee Relations; Resourcing; Reward & Recognition; corporate & operational HR; and Learning & Development. I prompt people to think strategically, and to be pragmatic and commercial.

I have worked with directors, senior managers, graduates and high potential individuals in a variety of functions including: Sales, Marketing, International Distribution, Licensing, Legal and Business, Finance, Editorial, Production, Operations, HR, IT, and On-line Publishing.
